Donna Verrill-Bird was born in San Francisco, California. As a child her hobby was rock collecting. At eleven, while on a trip to Maine, her Father took her to explore one of the nearby mines. It was here she acquired a passion for spelunking.

Employed at NASA Space Center during the Apollo moon missions, she developed a curiosity in outer space while pursuing an education in journalism. Over the years she has composed numerous editorials and short articles for local newspapers. ‘The Surfacing of Phoenix’ completes her second novel. She now resides with her husband in Atascosa, Texas.
