  Engaging Read! , 05/10/2005

I thought the book was very engaging! I was hooked from the very first page. During one of the main scenes in the book, it was very visual! I could feel myself getting swept up in the action and could picture what was going on! I was caught up in the action, running, ducking and dodging with the main character, as if I were running for my life! The trial was interesting as well. This scene was also very descriptive, giving you an inside-look at what goes on in a trial! I would recommend this book to many who enjoys reading and loves to "feel as if you are one of the characters in the book". You will also get a better understanding of the character, his upbringing, as well as his mother's upbringing. You will laugh, cry, get angry, but most of all, you will enjoy the ride!

remembering the main character and his mother from my pass made me interested in the book at first. once reading it I was very impressed. their story spoke to my very being. being a mother of a young black male made me feel her anguish and also reconfirmed the lengths I would go to for my only son. I truely commend the main character for his courage, not only to endure being imprisoned but for also learnig how not to stay in prison mentally. I do recommend this book to all, especially mothers of sons!
