  A "feel good" story , 08/29/2012
Reviewer: Virginia Mitchell
This is a story about polio and the way it was thought of. I remember the threat of it as a child and the way it was treated. This book shows how a wonderful dog comes into the life of Art and helps him overcome the harsh reality of it. I loved the magacial way Nugget accomplished this feat. I think we need more of these kind of books in this time. Also the close family was wonderful. 46

  A wonderful little story , 09/06/2012
Reviewer: Norma Lesher
The star of this delightful read is 'just a dog' named Nugget, whose scratch at the door one rainy night begins a heartfelt journey of a polio-stricken boy and his cherished and determined grandpa. Together the three triumph-even when Life marches on with it's sadness, healing, fairy tales, reality, growing up -and- love.

Good story for adults and teens , 10/24/2012

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. It tells a plausible story -- and one that is uplifting in its moral and spiritual tone. It is a book that I can recommend to my friends and peers (late depression babies and early baby boomers) and to my children and grandchildren. There are truths that are eternal and uplifting to all.

Great Uplifting Family Book , 01/31/2013
Reviewer: Patti Altmix
I thoroughly enjoyed this uplifting book. The main character, Nugget, makes you laugh and also makes you sad as you turn the pages to see how he lovingly and unselfishly aids his master through a long healing process from his disabling illness with Polio. The book is uplifting and an easy read. I definitely recommend it for good family reading!!
