Carlie G. Butts
North Augusta,, South Carolina
Biography:

Carlie G. Butts, was born June 21, 1928, in a small community of Oconee County, South Carolina known as Toxaway, near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He is married to Sara (Suttles) Butts, and is the father of three sons- Ray, Jerrie, and Michael Butts, all whom are residents of South Carolina.

Mr. Butts attended Lee College, where he acquired an AA Degree in Liberal Education, and Chicago Institute of Technology, where he studied Drafting and Designing. He retired in 1991 as Construction Superintendent, and Blue Print Specialist.

He commenced writing for pass-time during the 1950’s, and has written for magazines, newspapers, and other publications, although he didn’t start writing novels until the 1980’s.

His special style of writing, and being born and reared in the old South, with his works based on happenings in the South, makes his stories even more unique. Most of his works are based on supposedly true stories that were told to him by others down through the years. Even though he does not claim that the stories are true, he writes them as though they were, adding a few personal touches of his own, to make them more interesting.
